Hockey

The South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena has hockey fun for everyone!

Youth:

We have a robust youth hockey program with the West Virginia Wild, starting with an 8U (eight years old and under) team, and going all the way up to our high school program, the Charleston Chiefs!

Throughout the season, our program hosts offers several options for new players to learn the coolest game around! As a special event we participate in USAHockey’s Try Hockey for Free Day on a few Saturdays a year, and  Learn to Play sessions are intermittently held throughout the season, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45-6:45. Gear is provided for both. Advanced registration is required.

Hockey is primarily a travel sport, with 8U-14U traveling primarily to Ohio and the Chiefs primarily traveling to Kentucky. There are House League options available as well for some age groups for families that aren’t sure about the travel commitment.

Adults:

Our Adult Hockey program currently plays on Tuesdays (9:00-11:00pm) and Thursdays (9:30-11:00).

We are non-check, with a wide range of ages and skill levels.
